The Mahadev Chatti forest corridor borders Rajaji National Park — a designated Tiger Reserve. Your camp sits in the middle of one of India's richest wildlife corridors.
Rajaji National Park, which borders this region, is one of the most important elephant habitats in northern India. Elephants are occasionally spotted crossing the Ganga corridor.
The dense sal and mixed deciduous forests around the camp are leopard territory. Sightings are rare but possible — especially on early morning treks.
Sambar deer, spotted deer (Chital), and barking deer are commonly seen on the forest trails around Mahadev Chatti, especially at dawn and dusk.
The Rajaji ecosystem hosts over 400 bird species. The riverbanks and forest around G-Five are excellent for birdwatching — kingfishers, eagles, and rare Himalayan species.
The upper Ganga is home to the rare Gharial crocodile and the mighty Mahseer fish. This stretch of the river is among the cleanest and most pristine in India.

The 40-minute trek involves uneven terrain and a forest trail. Good trekking footwear is essential. Anyone reasonably fit can do it. Our guides carry luggage or arrange mules on request.

Fill up your fuel tank in Rishikesh. No petrol pumps near Mahadev Chatti. Stock up on personal supplies and medication before heading into the hills.
Trekking shoes, quick-dry clothes, warm layer for nights, water bottle, torch/headlamp, sunscreen, rain jacket (Oct–May), personal medication. Pack light — you carry it 40 mins in!
Avoid July–September. Heavy rainfall swells the Ganga, making rafting unsafe and trails slippery. Landslides can block roads. Always call us first before planning a monsoon visit.
